Questions
The things people ask before booking.
How quickly can you get to an emergency?
The phone is answered around the clock, including weekends and bank holidays. When you call you'll be given a realistic arrival time based on where you are, the time of day and what's already booked in. If it's going to be two hours, you'll be told two hours — a promise nobody can keep is worse than an honest answer.
Are you actually qualified and insured?
Yes. Three Ofqual-regulated EAL Level 3 qualifications: Electrotechnical Experienced Worker, 18th Edition BS 7671:2018, and Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification & Reporting. Certificate numbers are verifiable on the EAL register, work is Part P compliant, and there's £2M public liability cover on every job.
How does the pricing work?
The hourly rate is £85 in standard hours, £110 evenings, £115 weekends and bank holidays and £130 overnight, with a one-hour minimum that covers travel and the diagnostic. EICRs start at £150 and fuse boards at £550. Everything else is surveyed free and quoted as a single fixed price agreed in writing before anything starts. Materials are charged at trade price plus 15%.
What happens if you find something unexpected?
Work stops and you get told what's been found, what it means, and what it costs to put right. You approve the revised price before anything continues. Genuine safety issues get flagged and explained, but they never get quietly added to the bill.
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Usually a faulty appliance leaking current to earth — washing machines, tumble dryers and fridges are the common culprits — or water in an outdoor socket, damaged cable insulation, or an overloaded circuit. A diagnostic visit isolates the cause in most cases within the first hour.
Do you guarantee the work?
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months. Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, typically two to five years for consumer units and three for EV chargers. If something installed fails inside the guarantee period, the return visit costs nothing.
Which areas do you cover?
All London postcodes plus the surrounding counties — Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Middlesex. Response is quickest across North West London. For anywhere further out, planned work is straightforward; emergencies are honest about travel time.
